  • Known Issues
    • Vista and Windows 7:  Installing to the "C:\Program Files\..." directory in Vista and Windows 7 seems just fine until you try to save your changes.  Unfortunately, Vista and Windows 7 does not allow the database to be updated so the next time you open it you will not see your changes.  The solution is not to install to"C:\Program Files\nmCollector\NM Collector JE"  As a result, starting with version 1.5.2 the installation directory has changed to "C:\NM Collector JE"  Please keep this in mind when you apply upgrades or updates.  You can just change the installation directory to whatever you are currently using.  If you are running Vista I would recommend changing your installation directory if you installed it to "C:\Program Files\nmCollector\NM Collector JE"   Always backup your data to ensure against loss.  Your data is stored in the nmcswDB directory.

  • Make sure you have the pre-requisite Java installed - at least 1.6 ( http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp ).  NM Collector Sofware JE will not start without it and you will see a message to that effect.  If all goes well, it will then automatically send you to the Java download page.  If not just use the link above.
